Add speaker notes to a slide

Keep private operator or speaker cues alongside the slide they belong to.

Follow along in Desktop. Recorded in the product with illustrative content. Use the player controls to pause, replay or view full screen. Captions describe the on-screen actions.

Before you start

Select the slide that needs a cue.

Open the slide settings

Choose Design & timing and find Speaker notes. Notes belong to the selected slide, so confirm the label before adding a cue intended for another part of the service.

Write a useful cue

Enter a concise instruction, such as a reading reference, transition reminder or stage direction. Keep congregation-facing words in Slide text; use notes for information the presentation team needs while operating.

Review the stage view

Close the dialog and inspect the stage display if you use one. Confirm that the intended cue is available there and that the audience output still contains only the presentation content.

Rehearse with the speaker

Check the notes during a service run-through. Agree wording and timing with the person using the stage display so cues are short, understandable and associated with the correct slide.

If you need a hand

Notes are not a substitute for a live stage message. Use the stage message tool for an instruction that needs to be sent during the service.
