Style an individual slide

Before you start

Select the slide you want to adjust.

Open Design & timing

Choose Design & timing for the selected slide. The This slide’s appearance section controls that item, making it suitable for a special announcement or closing screen.

Change the appearance

Adjust Background color, Text color and the content area as needed. Check the preview after each change. A slide-specific override takes precedence over the presentation design for the properties you set.

Review in context

Close the dialog and move between the edited slide and its neighbours. Check that the change still feels consistent with the service and that the text remains legible at the intended audience distance.

Return to the shared design if needed

Reopen Design & timing and choose Use inherited design to clear this slide’s overrides. Confirm the preview again before taking the slide. Clearing overrides is different from editing the shared theme for other slides.

If you need a hand

If a shared theme change affects several slides, use the individual slide controls for exceptions instead of repeatedly changing the common theme.
