Before you start
Rehearse these controls on the audience output before using them live.
Identify the output controls
Find the audience output controls and confirm the current frame. Hold and blackout serve different purposes, so agree with your team which control to use for a pause, a private preparation moment or the end of a service.
Use Hold output for a stable frame
Choose Hold output when you need the audience frame to stay in place while you prepare. Check the held state before attempting another transition. Choose Unlock output when you are ready to resume normal output changes.
Black out the display
Select Blackout to clear the visible audience output. Use it deliberately and confirm the actual display is dark. Keep the desired next slide ready in the preview while the congregation’s screen is black.
Restore deliberately
Choose Restore output when the screen should return. Check which frame will be shown and take the intended slide as needed. Rehearse this sequence so a restore does not reveal an outdated announcement or preparation slide.
If you need a hand
If a take seems ineffective, inspect the hold and blackout states first. Do not repeatedly press controls without checking the audience monitor.
