Export a service backup

Save the rundown structure as a portable JSON file.

Follow along in Desktop. Recorded in the product with illustrative content. Use the player controls to pause, replay or view full screen. Captions describe the on-screen actions.

Before you start

Open the service you want to back up and check that recent edits are saved.

Review the service

Confirm the Service title, slide order and content. Exporting the wrong open service is easy when several gatherings have similar names, so read the title before opening the file tools.

Choose Export service

Open Service files and select Export service. The app downloads a service.pulpit.json file containing the rundown data. Keep the file in a folder that your team can identify and back up.

Name and store the copy

Give the file a descriptive name that includes the service date. Preserve the .pulpit.json extension. Keep an earlier approved version if you need to compare late changes with the rehearsed service.

Choose a media package when needed

A JSON rundown is not a bundle of all its media files. Use Export with media when you need to move the service and available assets together. Check the imported copy on the destination device before presenting.

If you need a hand

If a restored service has missing images or videos, use the original media files or a complete .pulpit package. Re-exporting only the JSON does not embed those files.
