Review a role’s permissions

Check what a role allows before assigning it to a team member.

Before you start

Open Owner Settings with permission to view roles.

Open Roles

Choose Roles in Owner Settings. The list contains the role definitions available to your church. Start here when a volunteer can sign in but cannot open a room or use an editing control.

Find the role

Use the search field to find the role by name, identifier or description. For example, search for media when reviewing production-team access. Clear the search to return to the complete list before comparing another role.

Read the details

Open the row actions and choose View details. Read the role description and permission list. Check both the room access and the specific actions needed for the person’s responsibilities, including whether they can view, edit or administer content.

Apply what you learned

Close the details panel and return to Users to review the person’s assigned roles and locations. A role definition describes permissions; the user assignment determines who receives them. Ask a church owner to make any change you cannot authorise.

If you need a hand

A room may also be unavailable because it is not included in the release or church plan. Assigning a role does not make a coming-soon room available.
